Commentary on top 10 blog usability mistakes - no author photo

Second usability mistake according to the top 10 blog usability mistakes by Jakob Nielsen (2005) is not having an author photo in author biography, since an author photo will improve credibility, offer more personable impression and connect the virtual and physical world in case some of your readers have met you. In my humble opinion, again the credibility of any writing should come from presented facts, clear reasoning and well defined opinions, not from the authors own persona. And furthermore, having or not having an author photo has more to do about creating a professional public image and less to do about blog usability.
